     Who am I?

I am the one who comes to your home in the middle of the night when you call for me.
I am the one who responds to the car accident that you are involved in.
I am the one who faces the bitter cold at a storm related incident.
I am the one who braves the intense heat at a brush fire.
I am the one who searches for a child lost in the woods.
I am the one who performs CPR on you or your family.
I am the one who searches a pond for a missing person.
I am the one who rescues an animal from a frozen lake.
I am the one who goes into a burning building when all others are running out.
I am the one who trains constantly to save lives.
I am the one who sometimes doesn't see my family for days because of an emergency.
I am the one who is on duty seven days a week for you.
I am the one who visits your children's schools to talk about safety.
I am the one who you see every day but you don't know my name.
I am the one who doesn't get paid for my service.
I am the one who is proud of what I do for you and the area I live in.
I am the one who will give my life to save yours.

Do you know who I am?

I am a volunteer!
