Columbia County 911 dispatched the Lebanon Valley Task Force(Lebanon Valley, Canaan Protective, East
Chatham & Red Rock) to a reported roof fire at 14:29. It was reported at 64 Route 5A(West Street) in the Town of New Lebanon.
Lebanon Valley Car 2 arrived and reported smoke in the attic and requested Chatham & Tsatsawassa with manpower.
Command requested NYS Electric and Gas to the scene.
Command then requested Tsatsawassa and Tri-Village
to the scene with tankers.
Stephentown was then requested by command to standby with one engine in the New Lebanon
Station.
Command reported the fire out and overhauling at 15:32.
It was reported to ColumbiaPage that
the fire appears to be electrical and it started near the porch soffit. Firefighters believe the aluminum siding was
electrically charged possibly due to a bad ground.
Stephentown Ambulance was on the scene. No injuries
were reported.
Fire units were back in service at 17:02.
