Two people were injured in a one car rollover accident near 471 Route 217 in the Town of Claverack.
Columbia 911 dispatched Mellenville Firefighters, Philmont Rescue and Greenport Rescue at 11:52 a.m. The accident was near
Coons Road.
A helicopter that was on standby was requested to respond. Philmont Firefighters were
requested under mutual aid to set up and secure a landing zone at the Claverack Town Park.
Lifeguard
12 transported one patient to Albany Medical Center. Philmont Rescue transported one patient to Columbia Memorial Hospital.
The New York State Police are investigating.

the New York State Police press Release:
According to numerous witnesses a vehicle driven by Jeromy Jennings,
age 25, of Philmont was racing another vehicle on State Route 217 westbound. Jennings lost control of his white 1994
Ford Mustang and flipped it over, landing in a ditch on the south side of State Route 217. Jennings was airlifted
to Albany Medical Center with chest injuries. A passenger, Melissa Hally, age 29, of Saugerties was brought to
Columbia Memorial Hospital with possible neck injures.
At this time the operator of the other
vehicle has not been identified. Witnesses have said that it is likely a white Corvette with stripes on the hood.
The State Police are asking that anyone who saw the accident or knows who was operating the Corvette contact NYSP Livingston
at 518-851-2001.
