Claverack Firefighters and Greenport Rescue were dispatched at 1:08pm by Columbia County 911 for
a reported structure fire at 552 Route 23B in the Town of Claverack.
Greenport Firefighters were called to
the scene with their F.A.S.T. Team. They were then pressed into service and Command requested Hudson with their F.A.S.T. Team.
Fire damage was confined to the door frame and basement. There was water damage to the first floor and basement.
Smoke damage was reported throughout the home.
The fire started near the wooden front doors, apparently
from stripping the paint with a heat gun.
The Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office was on
the scene.
Fire units were back in service at 2:13pm.
