Columbia County 911 dispatched Greenport Firefighters and Greenport Rescue at 8:49pm
for a reported structure fire at the old Jerry's Garage at 3771 Route 9 in the Town of Greenport. Within minutes
of the alarm Greenport Car 1 was on the scene and confirmed a working structure fire.
Command requested tankers
from Livingston, Claverack, Germantown and Churchtown. Claverack was requested to set up water supply at the intersection
of Yates Road and Fingar Road. Livingston was requested to fill tankers at the Becraft Station. Hudson was requested to standby
in their own quarters for Greenport.
It was reported one firefighter was transported to CMH by Greenport
Rescue with a foot injury.
National Grid was requested to the scene.
The Columbia County Fire Coordinators
Office and New York State Police were on the scene.
The Columbia County Cause & Origin Team was called
to investigate.

The Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office, Columbia County Cause & Origin Team, Greenport Fire
Department and New York State Police returned to the scene to continue their investigation this morning.
