On July 2, 2012 Columbia County 911 dispatched Livingston Fire Department and Northern Dutchess Paramedics
to State Route 82 near the intersection of Bells Pond Rd. in the Town of Livingston for a reported serious personal injury
accident involving a motorcycle and a car.
New York State Police at Livingston along with BCI
members responded to the scene.
The investigation
revealed that a couple from Dover Plains, NY were traveling south bound on SR-82, slowed to attempt a turn onto Bells Pond
Rd. Once they slowed to turn, the operator of the second vehicle struck the motorcycle from behind.
Both passengers on the motorcycle were ejected.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported
to Saint Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie NY by Northern Dutchess Paramedics where he is listed in stable condition.
The female passenger of the motorcycle was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital,
Hudson NY by Northern Dutchess Paramedics where she succumbed to her injuries.
State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene and is investigating the collision.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Columbia County Sheriffs Office and the Columbia County
EMS Coordinators Office.
