Columbia County 911 dispatched West Ghent Firefighters and Greenport Rescue at 4:50pm for a reported
shed fire at 1099 Route 22 in the Town of Ghent.
Upon arrivial West Ghent Command requested Ghent Firefighters
with one engine and one tanker to the scene.
The shed was reported to be 20' x 20' and was totally destroyed.
The Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office and Sheriff's Department were on the scene.
Command
reported the fire started due to a lightning strike.
West Ghent Firefighters were in service at 6:15pm.
